Who we are
ESPEN was founded in 1992 as a timber merchant for specialty woods . Our customers include manufacturers of furniture, musical instruments, wood turners, knife makers, etc. We only trade and process solid wood from controlled, i.e. FSC-certified forests. We currently stock 110 types of wood. Regional customers account for 1/3 of sales and supra-regional or international customers for 2/3. Learning fields
- You acquire knowledge of the company, its products, services and target markets
- You will learn to understand customer inquiries and process orders in a customer-oriented manner
- You pick orders and process complaints if deliveries do not fully meet customer expectations.
- You learn to record business processes as value streams. This means that you calculate costs and compare them with the actual expenses and compare them with the revenues
- You work on marketing measures, accompany them and evaluate their effectiveness
Our requirements
- University entrance qualification / Abitur / entrance qualification for universities of applied sciences
- Good foreign language skills
- A proven interest in wood as a material, a “hands-on approach”, i.e. a tendency to tackle things with your own hands
- Playing a musical instrument would be desirable, but is not a requirement.
What we offer
We offer a varied and interesting job where you will come into contact with the diversity of commercial timber like hardly anywhere else. We offer a salary of € 800 (1st year of apprenticeship) – € 1,200 (3rd year of apprenticeship) and 5 weeks annual leave.
