Achievements

A lot has happened since the company was founded in 1992. Sales were built up, customers were acquired in the trade and retail sector and, of course, performance and delivery capabilities were developed to the best of our ability. An extensive warehouse for sawn timber and semi-finished products is available today.

European hardwoods and hardwoods from overseas with special technical, visual and tonal properties form the focus of our stockholding.

In recognition of its committed business concept, ESPEN received the Innovation Award from the German Timber Trade Association in 1995. It was around this time that the German timber industry began to focus intensively on the topic of “wood and sustainability”.

Parts of the range were tested by the magazine“Öko-Test” and classified as “unreservedly recommendable”. (This is the best possible rating).

In 2000, ESPEN was given a very special honor: The company was allowed to supply the wood for the 1000 benches that were set up on the grounds of the EXPO 2000 world exhibition in Hanover.
