Who we are
ESPEN was founded in 1992 and became a public limited company in 2000. There are currently 120 people involved. ESPEN distributes wood. Imported wood and wood purchased in Germany is processed into special assortments in our own factory. Semi-finished products are manufactured to order. Our customers throughout Europe include instrument makers, wood turners, boat builders, manufacturers of humidors and sports bows, to name but a few. We only trade and process solid wood, preferably from controlled, i.e. certified forestry. We have been running our own online store since 2014: www.shop.espen.de. We have been successfully running a workshop for the production of unique tables and other solid wood furniture since 2018. The products are described on www.holzwerk-frankfurt.de.
Your tasks
You will strengthen our team in the areas of acquisition, planning and production. You advise commercial and private customers, prepare quotations and follow up on current orders. After a thorough induction, you will manage projects independently. Depending on your inclination, your tasks will be more technical or more commercial in nature.
Our requirements
sound technical and commercial training, preferably in musical instrument making. Ideally, you will have several years of professional experience and be familiar with the common types of wood and their properties. You have learned to use your energy and knowledge efficiently. You like people, can get them excited about something and can impart your knowledge. You are familiar with common computer programs.

You work in a team of dedicated colleagues and are largely free to determine your own working hours. We offer performance-related pay and appropriate time off as well as 25 working days’ vacation per year.
